Melvin Barker, 85, was born in Cadiz, Ohio on August 11, 1933 to the late Tom L and Alma Barker. He met his wife, Ann S. Hooper while attending David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN. They Married on September 12, 1953 at Ann's home in Nashville. Melvin was a minister for 66 years and worked with 14 congregation from Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Melvin is survived by his wife Ann, two daughters, Janie Castillo (Jack), Sherry Williams (Craig) both of Lake City, FL. and one son Kevin Barker (Laura) of Eustis, Florida. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, William (Valencia) Castillo; Sherry (Jesse) Hopper; Emily (Michael) Bowen; Amy (Jamie) Tasker; Carson and Jantzen Barker; and 7 great grandchildren, Danielle, Kierra, Emalee, Alyssa and Thomas Hopper, Alura Castillo, and Alison Bowen.
There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, June 22, 2019, 11:00 am, at Burlington Santa – Fe Church of Christ located at 4393 US Highway 27, Branford, FL. 32008
All arrangements are through ICS Cremation and Funeral Services, Lake City, FL.

Melvin Barker 85 passed from this life Thursday, June 6, 2019 following a battle of cancer. His memorial services will be Saturday, June 22, 2019, 11:00 am at Burlington Santa-Fe Church of Christ in Branford, FL. Arrangements are in the care of ICS CREMATION AND FUNERAL HOME. 386-752-3436.
