The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to Private First Class Patsy A. Aiezza, Jr. (ASN: 32739686), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action against a hostile force. Private First Class Aiezza distinguished himself by intrepid actions on 10 April 1945 while serving with Company E, 2d Battalion, 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations. His unquestionable valor in close combat is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 80th Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
