Frederick Monroe AuFrance was born March 16, 1913 in Paulding, Ohio the son of Frederick and Carrie (Meek) AuFrance. He lived his young years in Ohio and as a young man he moved to Wyoming and settled in the Douglas area. He worked on his Uncle's ranch for a few years.

Frederick was married to Mildred Partee in Paulding, Ohio on December 19, 1935. After their marriage they started ranching in the Douglas area for themselves and remained in ranching until their semi-retirement in 1978.

He was survived by his wife, Mildred, of Douglas; two sons, Fred of Glenrock and Donald of Douglas; one daughter, MaryAnn Isenberger of Douglas; three sisters, Emma Sanders of Wayne, Michigan; Virginia Manson of Paulding, Ohio and Margaret AuFrance of Paulding, Ohio; twelve grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
