Arthur C. Stringer, Radio and Television Official, Dies Here

Arthur C. Stringer, 57, radio and television official, died yesterday at Suburban Hospital of a heart ailment.

Mr. Stringer was in charge of the equipment exposition of the National Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters, 1771 N street N.W.

A native of Battle Creek, Mich., he was a graduate of the University of Chicago. Before entering the radio field in Chicago 25 years ago, he had worked for the Chicago Tribune a number of years.

Mr. Stringer had made his home here since 1932. During World War II he served in a liaison capacity between broadcasters and the Government.

He was a member of Sigma Nu, a college social fraternity, and the Kenwood Country Club.
His home is at 5132 Bradley boulevard, Bethesda.

Both Mr. Stringer’s children are in television. His daughter, Lewis Tipton (Tippy) Stringer, is a television performer for Station WNBW, and his son, Arthur C. Stringer, jr., is on the staff of WFMY-TV, Greensboro, N. C.

Also surviving are his widow, Mrs. Frances Sugg Stringer, of the home address; his step-mother, Mrs. George H. Stringer, of Battle Creek, Mich., and a half-brother, George P. Stringer, of Rochester, Minn.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
