James Wilborn Mehan, 94, died Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Tallahatchie Extended Care Facility in Charleston, MS.

He was born November 26, 1924 in Lambert, MS to William Henry and Nora Mehan. He was a retired farmer and World War II Veteran who loved wood working, reading and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Mehan leaves behind his loving family, which includes his wife of 71 years, Alice Marie Joiner Mehan; one daughter, Sandra Pitcock (Harry Lee) of Batesville; one son Jerry Mehan (Angela) of Pope; daughter-in-law Debbie Mehan of Batesville; four grandchildren, Jay Pitcock (Margaret) of Madison, David Pitcock of Pearl; Jessica Mehan of Atlanta, and Whitney Aldridge (Wade) of Batesville; four great-grandchildren Georgia Pitcock, Emery Pitcock, Chance Aldridge and Eva Wade Aldridge; and one brother, Webster Mehan of Pope. He was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne Mehan and Donnie Mehan and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 12 -2 p.m. on Saturday, August 17,2019 at Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
