Edna Belle (Spencer) Cope passed away Aug. 14, 2019, at the Canterbury Inn in Longview, WA, at the age of 105. She was preceded in death by all six of her siblings; her parents Tracy and Anna (Hefley) Spencer; and her son James Roy Cope. Having been born up on the Cowlitz Prairie, she attended the first eight grades in a one-room school house at Upper Cowlitz. She graduated Valedictorian of her class from Toledo High School in 1932. On Dec. 27, 1934, she married William Coy Cope in Chehalis, WA. He passed away August 7, 1997.
In the early 1940s, she and Coy moved to Kelso, WA. She was a devoted wife, homemaker, gardener, painter, Sunday school teacher and later in life owned her own Beauty Salon that is still in operation to this day. She was also the oldest living member of the Kelso Presbyterian Church (some 66 plus years) of which she was very proud.
She and Coy loved to travel and went to Spain, North Africa, Philippines, Hawaii, Mexico, Canada and throughout the United States.
She is survived by a son Gene C. and daughter in-law Harriet F. Cope of Cannon Beach, OR.
She leaves behind four grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home on Aug. 21, 2019, at 11 a.m.

Interment will be at Murray Hill Cemetery in Clatskanie, OR. Visitation will be at Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 20, from 1-5 p.m.
