Special thanks to Contributor 50864139 who found and deciphered German records for Barbara Armbruster born Dec 27, 1826, Diessen, Germany (which would be Prussia) to Anton Armbruster born Oct 17, 1803, Diessen, Germany and Catherine Armbruster born Jan 17, 1804 in Diessen, Germany, married June 1, 1829 in Diessen, Germany.
Anton's parents are Johannes Armbruster and Maria Schon;
Catherine's parents are Martin Armbruster and Ursula Hattler.
Barbara had a brother Joseph Armbruster and they came to America with their parents, arriving in Port of Baltimore, Maryland, in Sept. 1833.

She was married to Edward Jan 15, 1849, Wheeling, Ohio County, Virginia before West Virginia statehood. However the marriage records spell his name Plinka and Plunka.

Barbere Planky 23 and husband Edward 30 a carpenter born Germany appear on 1850 census, Wheeling, Ohio County, Virginia, before West Virginia statehood, with Francis 13 born Mexico. (adopted child?)
They reside adjacent to her parents Anthony Armbruster 47 born Germany a grocer, wife Catherine 46 born Germany and children Mary 16, Caroline 14, Catherine 11, John 9, Eliza J 6 and Anthony F 1 all born Ohio.

Edward was a Captain in Union Army, Civil War, Company C, 5th Regiment, West Virginia Cavalry; and Company C, 2nd Regiment WV Infantry.

Barbara 43 and Edward/Edwin 51 both born Hanover, appear on 1870 census, Bridgeport, Belmont County, Ohio, where he is a carpenter, with their children Mary 20, George 17, Catherine 14, Emma 12, Charles 9 and Fanny 7 all born Ohio.
He was elected County Poor Agent /Superintendent of County Infirmary in 1881.

They are listed on 1880 census Wheeling with children Emma 22, Frances 16, Ella 9 and married daughter Mary and P. John Troll.

He died April 5, 1885 at County Infirmary.

Emma M married Walter G. Morris in 1884 Ohio County WV
Frances/Fanny Amelia married Wm M. Nowell in 1890 Marshall County WV
Ella M married Louis Feisner in 1904.
