BANFFSHIRE MAN KILLED IN JOHANNESBURG
Intelligence has been received in Aberdeen of the accidental death at Johannesburg, South Africa of Mr Alexander Findlay, formerly of Ashvale Place, Aberdeen, and late of Mill of Turriff. Particulars are not yet to hand, but it is believed the sad fatality occurred while Mr Findlater and his son William were engaged in connection with the construction of a new railway. The deceased was a son of the late Mr John Findlater, Mill of Auchenbadie, Alvah, Banffshire, and was well known throughout the north. He was for some years lesee of Mill of Turriff, and latterly removed to Aberdeen. About five years ago he went to South Africa. He married the third daughter of Mr James Clark, Linganbo, Keilhill, King Edward by whom and a large family he is survived.
