She was a lifelong resident of Rockingham County, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mayodan, was a self-employed beautician and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tommy A. Hayden and Harvey A. Lawson.
She is survived by her step-sons, John Lawson and wife, Janice of Madison, Ricky Lawson and wife, Candice of Sandy Ridge, Jackie Lawson of Madison; step-daughter, Cathy Martin and husband, Jimmy of Stoneville; three sisters, Elizabeth Paschal and husband, Billy of Madison, Mildred Fulcher and husband, Tommy of Eden, Willa Von Wood and husband, William of Sandy Ridge; one brother, Charles E. "Nose" Adams, Jr. of Madison. Also surviving are grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the home of Willa Von and William Wood in Sandy Ridge. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, in the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. Ray Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
