Born in Anderson, Dr. Taylor was a son of the late John C. Sr. and Evelene Norrell Brown Taylor. Dr. Taylor was a members of the Honea Path First Baptist Church. He served the Honea Path Community for 50 years as Family Practice Physician
Dr. Taylor was a graduate of Erskine College and received his M.D. from Johns Hopkins Medical University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II.
Surviving are two sons, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Taylor of Honea Path, Mr. & Mrs. Bob Taylor of Ninety Six, daughter-in-law, Carolyn Taylor of Honea Path, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. They were predeceased by a son, John C. Taylor, III.
Dr. Taylor was predeceased by a brother, Lee Brown Taylor, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Moody and Dr. Booker Bagby officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 P.M. and from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The family is at the home, 201 Sunset Drive. Memorials may be made to the Honea Path Free Clinic, Box 28, Anderson, S.C. 29622-0728.
