Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 6, at Berthusen-Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Avoca, Iowa.
Adolph William Engel was born April 10, 1908, in Pottawattamie County, the son of Adolph and Dora Engel Sr. He received his education in the Pottawattamie County schools. He married Matilda Helen Heesch in June 1935, in Council Bluffs. Together they farmed near Harlan, until they retired and moved to Harlan. He later became a resident of the Baptist Memorial Home in Harlan.
Surviving are three daughters, Judith McLaughlin and Jacqueline (Dwayne) Larsen, both of Avoca and Kristi (Kent) Beebe of Minden; one son, Larry (Cheryl) Engel of Avoca; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Rodenburg of Underwood and Mabel Bents of Pacific Junction; and one brother, Henry Engel of Underwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
