Though Mark was born deaf, he faced every one of life's challenges courageously and with dignity. He was educated in his early years at the Institute of Logopedics in Wichita, Kansas. He then attended the program for the deaf at Stonewall Jackson Elementary in Dallas. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1975.
Early in his adulthood, Mark traveled the world, visiting Argentina, Israel, and some countries in Europe. He also spent a couple of years living in Mexico.
He spent most of his adult life living with his parents in their home in Lakewood where he felt loved, safe and secure. Mark loved to read the Dallas Morning News from cover to cover and watch the ups and downs of the stock market on CNBC. He also enjoyed keeping up with his favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Mavericks.
Mark is survived by his loving mother, Rosa Blum, his brother Gary Blum and sister-in-law, Valeria Blum, and his nephews Lucas and Ethan Blum, and niece Julia Blum.
He will be sorely missed by his entire family and by anyone who knew him. May his star shine brightly in the canopy of eternity.
