James A. Joyner Jr. was born August 9, 1955. He graduated from Woodlawn High School on Shreveport, Louisiana in 1973. He was born to James A. Joyner Sr. and Frances Marie Cook Joyner.

"Jim" was a decorated MSGT retiring after serving our country 28 years. Jim was the recipient many awards including the Combat Action Medal, and the Bronze Star twice. Jim served in Bosnia, Korea, Germany, two combat tours of Iraq, and one combat tour of Afghanistan. Jim was assigned to the 2nd Cavalry Div, and was a brave warrior, great leader, and loved by his soldiers. He was one of those leaders that lead from the front.

Above all, Jim was a devoted family man. He was loving husband to his wife Cindy of 44 years and "daddy" to sons James William "Jamie", John Wesley, Zachary Lee Joyner, and his daughter Jennifer "Jenna" Lynn Joyner.

Jim hobbies included woodworking, shooting, bird watching, being a shade tree mechanic, and above all, riding with his wife Cindy on their his & her Harley-Davidsons.
