Willard O. Lofgren died, at the age of 92 years, Wednesday evening, January 14, 2015, at the Grand Village Nursing Home, after a short struggle with physical infirmity following a long decline with Alzheimer's disease.

Willard graduated from Aitkin High School in the class of 1942. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe, he married Ruth Grimsbo, his high school classmate, in March of 1947. He and Ruth began life together in the Minneapolis area where he worked for Pyrofax Gas as a delivery and serviceman and built the first of many houses. In 1966 Willard moved his family to Grand Rapids where he was employed by Blandin Paper Co. until he began his own contracting business building homes. Willard loved many things, among them were playing cards with family and friends (cribbage, 500 and Mean Texas Marbles), and he always loved a good laugh. Willard was a long-time member of Grace Bible Chapel in Grand Rapids, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Olga (Paulson) Lofgren; brothers: Clyde and Dennis Lofgren; sisters: Kathleen, Ann, and Elaine.

Willard is survived by his wife, Ruth; children: Aaron, Bruce, Clinton, and Don Lofgren and Gail (Dan) Murphy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
