Ira was married to Beulah A. Johnson at Ong, Nebraska, on November 17, 1917. To this union were born two sons: Ira V. of Nelson and Ray D. of Wichita, Kansas.
After his marriage, Mr. Adams lived briefly at Hastings, Ainsworth and Stromsberg, Nebraska. He moved to Nelson in 1926 where he lived until his death. He was engaged in a variety of business interests, including motion picture exhibitor, and radio and appliances. He was also County Clerk from 1945 to 1947.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church near Ruskin and later transferred to the Methodist Church in Ruskin. He belonged to the Ancient Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge No. 77 of Nelson.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Albert and one sister, Leona Larson (sic). Surviving are his wife, two sons, two grandchildren and one brother, Charles of Ogalalla, Nebraska.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 14, 1970 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church, Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Victor Schwarz officiating. Klawitter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Casket Bearers were: Ralph Aikin, Guy Bruce, Jas. Murphy, Virgil Stowers, Wilbur William and H. McAdamson (sic).
Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, Nebraska. Masonic Rites by Nelson Lodge No. 77.
