RUSHFORD -- The funeral for Raymond G. Aakre will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Rushford Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Aakre, 88, died Friday (June 29, 2007) at Winona Community Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 21, 1919, in Hesper, Iowa. On March 19, 1941, he married Norma Peterson in Rushford; she preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 1989. Mr. Aakre worked as a lineman for 30 years with Tri County Electric. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and raising trout on his fish farm.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Lang of Lewiston and Sharon (John) Gruhlke of Mazeppa; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
