Beloved mother of Marilyn (Dale) Fulkerson, Lynn (Dave) Bupte, and Conni (Neal) Pasciak; son-in-law Bob Vanderlake; dear grandmother of David (Natalie) Fulkerson, Katie (Mike) Swaggerty, Christina ( Jason) Rupkey, David (Carly) Bupte, Paul Bupte, Eric Pasciak, Elijah (Katie Malone) Pasciak, Cameron (Kasey) Davenport, Todd (Katrina) Spenceman, Aaron (Gretchen) Meyers, and Shayna (Ellie) Meyers; great-grandmother of Noah, Ethan, Luke, Malachi, Clayton, Glory, Tyler, Christopher, Myles, Eleanor, Oliver, Zooey, Livia, and Cole; and caring sister of Shirley (Gerry) Wine and Penny (Jim) Clark;Janie was predeceased by her husband Nazim Saide; parents Francis and Viola (LaTourette) Bragg, children Linda Vanderlake and David Saide; siblings Rick Stahl and Connie Smock; and grandson Trevor Spenceman.
Janie was born in Port Huron on February 13, 1928. She married Nazim Saide on February 26, 1948 in Highland Park. In 1971, Janie and Nazim purchased the Welhausen’s General Store in Shelby Township and operated it for 25 years. She was a member of the Stoney Creek Community Church, teaching bible classes and involved in Martha’s circle.
Janie loved to read, cook, bake, and in earlier years to swim in Lake Huron. She was a very brave woman whose strength was her faith in Jesus whom she loved and shared with all who met her. Janie also dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
Marilyn's family will receive all for a memorial gathering on Friday October 5, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Stoney Creek Community Church, located at 11711 26 Mile road in Washington, Michigan.
Memorial contributions may be made in Janie's honor to the Stoney Creek Community Church, specify “World Outreach Committee” or “Missions Fund” in the memo field of the check.
