Anna Pauline Snodgrass, age 95 of Joplin, MO, passed away on Friday August 30, 2019 at Dade County Nursing Home in Greenfield, MO.

Pauline was born on November 11, 1923 in South Greenfield, MO, the daughter of the late John and Clara (Mallory) Withrow. She was known to be an avid, competitive and accomplished archer in her youth and adulthood. At the age of sixteen she received her beauticians license from the Joplin School of Cosmetology.

She then married Robert Dewey Maddox in 1941. She was called by her country to build aircraft in Wichita, KS, until the war ended in 1945. She was a true “Rosie The Riveter”. In 1964, she married Clyde L. Snodgrass of Duquesne, MO. She was owner/operator of Pauline’s Coiffures located at 1302 Joplin Street from 1969 to 2007, retiring at the age of 83. She was a life-long member of the Joplin Board of Cosmetology. She was a former member of the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading in her spare time.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Loyd T. Withrow; one sister, Alice Marie Withrow; one son, Gary Dean Maddox; and her husband, Clyde L Snodgrass.

She leaves behind a grandson, Gary Maddox II; one great-grandson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation honoring Pauline and Clyde Snodgrass will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday September 6th at 1109 S. Duquesne Road, Joplin, MO.
