Leland C. Brown, 63, of 404 N. Cedar, died today at Greater Community Hospital.
Mr. Brown was born Feb. 1, 1920 in Clarke County to Charles and Alta (Lamb) Brown. On Nov. 30, 1940, he married Myrtle Smith in Creston.
He was a lifetime resident of Clark, Decatur and Union Counties. He lived for awhile in Osceola and then nine years in Grand River before moving south of Thayer in 1957. He retired from farming and moved to Creston in 1981. He was in the Army Air Corps, 8th Fighter Command during WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret (William) Eggers of Winterset amd Mrs. Mary (Alfred) Anderson of Deer River, Minn; two sons, Donald of Creston and Richard of Fort Knox, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and one brother Frank Brown of Thayer. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
