Pauline Roberta Roukey was born to Joseph James Roukey and Laura Bernadette née Lambert and grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA. She was baptized at St. Raphael Parish and her godparents were Robert Szarek and Yvonne Szarek. Yvonne was one of her maternal aunts.

Pauline was known as Berta to her siblings, nieces, and nephews. She was a character who often spoke rapidly. There was no one else quite like her. She laughed often and her head would bobble when she did. Being around her was entertaining.

Pauline became a nun when she was a young adult. Eventually, she left the convent and married Paul L. Auger on 28-Feb-1973 at St. John Evangelist in Concord. They had no children and did not remain married. She also lived in Allenstown at one time.

In the last years of her life, Pauline lived in Bedford where she passed away. She got to meet a second great-niece before then.
