Samuel Earl Sprinkle, 68, born in Bayou La Batre on November 25, 1950, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019.
Sammy, was born and raised in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, where he was a shrimp boat captain for roughly 40 years. He was an avid fisherman, and was usually found on a boat floating in the water. He was a loving husband to Mrs. Ellen for twenty five wonderful years.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Albert and Grace Sprinkle; his sister, Bobbie Gulley; and his brothers, Albert, Orville and Harold.
He is survived by: his wife, Ellen; his children, Ashley (Shawn) Collier, Tammy (Reed) Hall, Deanna (Shane) Johnson, Timmie (Tonya) Johnson, Samantha (Randy) Byrd, Sally (George) Bosarge, Paul Johnson, Sam (Amber) Cochran, Lorna Johnson and Brittany Johnson; his sisters, Betty (Al), Pat (Dean), Sharon, Marie (Richard); his brother, Josie (Billy Joyce); 24 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many more family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 5 pm - 9 pm at Independent Church of God, 12750 Padgett Switch Rd., Irvington, Alabama. His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 11 am, with burial to immediately follow at Oddfellows Cemetery.
