SHREWSBURY – Ruth Ethel (Dehoff) Ness, 75, of Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village, died Tuesday morning at the home. She was the wife of the late Harry E. Ness.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Jacob's (Stone) Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be 7 to 9 tonight at the Robert M. Goodling Funeral Home, 62 Main St., Seven Valleys, and 10 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Ness was born in Codorus Township, the daughter of the late Edward and Ellen C. (Miller) Dehoff.
Mrs. Ness is survived by five children, S. Kenneth Ness, New Freedom RD 2; Gladys M. Chinault, Seven Valleys RD 2; Harry E. Ness Jr., Dover; Naomi M. McFarland, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Clarence J. Ness, Seven Valleys; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Myrtle Dehoff, Loganville; Meda Myers, Glen Rock, and Eva Danner, York RD; six brothers, Emory Dehoff, Dallastown; Leroy Dehoff, York; Lawrence Dehoff, Glen Rock; Harry Dehoff, Dover; Stewart Dehoff, Dallastown, and Paul Dehoff, Glen Rock.
Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Richard C. Weaver, and her grandson, the Rev. Austin L. Chinault II, pastor of Stoverstown United Church of Christ.
