Funeral services for Mr. William Ernest Barnett, Sr., age 92, of Leoma, TN, who passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 in Country Side Health Care & Rehab, were conducted Tuesday, January 27, 2004 in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Sonny Moore & Rev. Billy Moore officiating. Burial followed in Flintville Cemetery.
Mr. Barnett was a native of Lawrence Co., TN, son of the late Danny Effert Barnett & the late Beulah Chandler Barnett, a supply technician for Murray Inc. and a member of the Church of God.
Along with his parents, Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his wife: Ruby Gordon Barnett in 1997; 2 baby boys; 2 other sons: Ben Marshall Barnett, Dwight Lee Barnett; 1 great granddaughter: Tammie Vess.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Eva Pearl DiGiorgio of Birmingham, AL, Mary Hunt of Fayetteville, TN; 3 sons: Madison Shelton Barnett, Sr. of Summertown, TN, Danny C. Barnett, William Ernest Barnett, Jr. both of Leoma, TN; 4 sisters: Vernon Belew of Leoma, TN, Helen Willis of Kingsport, TN, Bessie Mincey of Loretto, TN, Ruby Brewer of Lawrenceburg, TN; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren & 6 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
