She was born November 29, 1929 in Mecklenburg County. Later adopted by William H.
and Carolyn H. Barker. After graduating from high school she went to work at Central
Telephone Company for 19 years. She retired from Tuttle School as the Lunchroom Man-
ager for many years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray
Andrew Parker; four sisters, Alice Bradford, Gladys Crenshaw, Hazel Williamson, and Ella
Ray Canipe; three brothers, George Day, Bill Barker, and Fred Barker.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her son, Phillip Barker (Tricia) of Maiden, N.C.; one granddaughter,
Hannah Parker and her fiancee, Joshua Rowe of Maiden; two sisters, Mary Keener of Maiden
and Sue Lindley of Maiden; one sister-in-law, Peggy Barker of Chesapeake, VA; caregivers,
niece Lisa Keener and nephew William Keener and many other nieces and nephews and
their families.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at May's
Chapel Methodist Church, Maiden, N.C. Funeral service will be held in the sanctuary at 11
a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers you can send memorials to May's Chapel UMC or Brian Center Lincoln.

NC. Ray was the son of George M. Parker and Mary Elizabeth Cline.
