A son of Daniel K. and Barbara (Burger) Barley. He was united in marriage with Nancy Dooley. His wife and five daughters died in the great Johnstown flood, May 31, 1889. He was survived by one son, Chalmer.
Cemetery burial records indicate he is buried in the same section as his wife and parents. Aged 52 years. Died July 14, 1905.
I found his death record at the PA State Archives in Harrisburg. Microfilm roll 11914. Death records City of Johnstown 1891-1909.
There is an obituary in the Johnstown Tribune, 8/14/1905, for E C Barley. I searched the issue noted at the Johnstown Library and could not find a death notice.on Sept. 21, 2019. The date must be in error.
