Margarette M. Warrington, 87, of the 300 block of Oaklette Drive, died March 6, 1998, at her residence.

Born in Jamesville, N.C., she was the widow of Etheridge E. Warrington. She was a retired salesperson for Rices-Nachmans Department Store. Mrs. Warrington was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women's Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Margarette Joyce Council and her husband, Edward, of Chesapeake; a grandson, Edward E. Council Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Chesapeake; four sisters, Bertie Concklin of Bull Head, Ariz., Grace Barber and Esta Hardison, both of Jamesville, N.C., and Lucille Wood of California; a brother, Albert James Martin of Jamesville; two great-grandsons; and one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by a son, Martin E. Warrington, and four brothers, Joseph, Edward Lee, William and Thomas Martin.

A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Robert M. Chapman. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Heritage United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
