Phyllis Ann Bradbury Scottsdale - It's with a heavy heart we say goodbye to the beautiful, brave, strong, smart and loving Phyllis Ann Bradbury, who passed away 26 December 2018 at the age of 78. Phyllis was a 4th of July baby born in Louisville the year of 1940. She graduated from Southern High School in 1959 and married her high school sweetheart, Donald Lee Bradbury, with whom she had six children. Besides being a wonderful mother Phyllis was an amazing cook, gardener, jeweler, retail manager and pet whisperer. She was proud of her heritage and connections with the Circus from her early years which inspired her to always have pets which ranged from dogs, cats, fish and birds to lizards, snakes, frogs and ferrets. She had an exciting life, living in nine states as well as Mexico. But her favorite home was Grandview Lake in Columbus, Indiana. It's here her family will remember her, happily floating on her blue raft during a beautiful Midwest summer day behind her dream home with six kids playing about. But wherever she went Phyllis's homes were filled with love, pets, plants, family, friends and great food. Her neighbors, friends, and co-workers love her for many reason but mostly comment on her great storytelling ability and sense of style. Although she preferred climates with four dramatic seasons and lots of snowfall, Phyllis came to enjoy living in Scottsdale, Arizona these last six years, battling through the harsh summers. She valued time with her two dogs, children, and grandchildren. She made Saturday nights family dinner and movie night which will never be the same. Phyllis is preceded in death by her mother (Blanche Beatrice Morris Sewell, 1949), father (Clarence Henry Sewell, 1974), brother (Donald Kenneth Sewell, 2011) and daughter (Donna Dee Bradbury, 2016). She leaves behind her sister, Geraldine L. Sewell Hugunin (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), son Daniel Patrick Bradbury and daughter-in-law Jeanne (Ray) Bradbury (Cumming, Georgia), daughter Bonnie Leigh Bradbury and son-in-law Michael Debold (Reno, Nevada), daughter Brenda Lou Bradbury (Marseilles, Illinois), son Michael Sean Bradbury and daughter-in-law Jennifer (Neusel) Bradbury (Eagle, Colorado), and daughter Marla Katherine Bradbury and son-in-law Dan Drummond (Scottsdale, Arizona). Phyllis also leaves behind six grandchildren including Dolan Debold (22), Dalton Debold (17), Jack Bradbury (15), Finn Bradbury (13), Campbell Drummond (9), and Lachlan Drummond (8). Phyllis has a large extended family and many, many friends. We all miss her already. A Celebration of Life will be held on 9 March 2019 at the Scottsdale Ranch Community Center located at 10585 N 100th Street from 3-5pm. Family and friends are welcome.
