PRATTSVILLE -
Raymond Ellis, 70, of Prattsville, died Wednesday at his home.
He was born June 1, 1934, at Valley Springs, a son of the late Thurman Albert Ellis and Mittie Duvall Ellis.
He was reared and attended school at Prattsville.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He worked in the timber industry as a log cutter.
He was a member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Albert Ellis; one brother; and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Alene Langley Ellis, whom he married on Nov. 30, 1957, at Sheridan; three sons, Carl Ellis, Bobby Ellis and Alan Ellis, all of Prattsville; three daughters, Loretta Carter of Prattsville, Annette Rendeluk of Donaldson and Kimberly Sheridan of Prattsville; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Buie Funeral Home at Sheridan with the Rev. Brad Warren and Shawn Hill officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery.
