A. C. (Amory) Geffert, 68, of 1807 E. Park, retired grocery man and life-long resident of Victoria, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday in a local hospital after a day's illness.
Mr. Geffert owned and operated the Ben Geffert Grocery and service station at 1001 E. Juan Linn for many yers.
The son of the late Ben and Bertha Hausendeufel Geffert, he was born Aug. 29, 1901, in Victoria. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday from Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Carlson and the Rev. James Carlson and the Rev. Glendon Frank officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home.
The body will lie in state at the church from 3 p.m. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katie Geffert, of Victoria; two daughters, Miss Audrey Geffert of Victoria, and Mrs. Richard Fenner of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Silberisen, of Victoria; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Lockhart, Bedy Black, Victory Talley, Charles Rippamonti, Rudy Matocha, and William J. Black.
