W. L. Hardage married Mary L. Brown on 30 Sep 1875, Leake County, Mississippi; Mississippi Marriages, on ancestry.com

William Lumpkin Hardage, Shelby County, Texas, Confederate Pension App # 18345, and
Mary Hardage, wife of William Lumpkin Hardage, Confederate Pension App # 34721; both in Texas State Archives records online.

The pension application file # 18345, for W. L. Hardage, is now on ancestry.com, and gives this info:

He enlisted July 20, 1861, served as Private in Company K, 5th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry, CSA; paroled May 1, 1865.
"surrendered with General Joseph N. Johnston, at Greensboro N.C. in the year 1865."
He was born in Marion County, Georgia. Moved to Texas in 1879; lived in Timpson, Texas, since 1879.

The file also includes a letter from his son, Z. P. Hardage, stating that his father, W. L. Hardage, died on June 2, 1917. A mortuary warrant was issued on July 14, 1917, to pay for "1 casket $30.00." Cause of death was "mitral regurgitation of the heart."
