Tuesday occurred the funeral of Fred Christensen, for the past five or six years a resident of Harlan, and prior thereto for many years a resident of Jackson township, at "Copenhagen." Mr. Christensen had been badly crippled for many years by rheumatism. He was at the time of his death 76 years of age, and was a native of Denmark. Many of his old neighbors attended his funeral, and drove out to the Lutheran cemetery at Bowman's Grove, where a funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Nielsen. A son, Hans Christensen, from Cass county was present, also a brother from Audubon county. Deceased leaves a wife, and one son. (The Shelby County Republican, Thursday, June 22, 1905, p. 4)
