Hazel D. Koch ,age 77, of 1121 Flambeau St., Manitowoc, died Friday, January 1, 1999, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 1999, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Officiating at the services will be Rev. Robert Meyer with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born February 1,1921, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Wencel and Emma Flentje Blahnik. Hazel was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1938. On August 10 ,1942, she married Irvin Koch at First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Hazel was very active at St. John's United Church of Christ. She was a Sunday School superintendent, teacher, she sang in the choir and participated in many other church functions. Hazel also ran the Monroe School Library for many years until her retirement in 1983.
Survivors include her husband, Irvin Koch, Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Jeri Lynn Koch,Manitowoc, Keith and Janeen Koch, Cato; one daughter,Dawn Koch,Wheaton,Ill; six grandchildren,Bartolo and Stacey Medina, Manitowoc, Cory and Kristine Koch, Manitowoc, Melissa Koch and Donald Robinson, Mishicot, Jordan, Heather and April Koch; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis and Grace Blahnik, Manitowoc, Dale and Mary Blahnik, Vero Beach,Fla., Carl and Mary Blahnik, Manitowoc. She is also survived by nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one infant son,David.
Friends may call at St.John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home,Manitowoc,is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
