Irma S. Streit, 79, of Harvard, died Thur., Jan. 9 at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock.
Irma was born Sept. 10, 1934 to Olof A. and Agnes (Bjornsen) Nelson in Lynch, Nebraska. On Oct. 23, 1954, she married Robert H. "Stubby" Streit in Harvard. He passed on Feb. 3, 2008.
She was a past member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Harvard, and the Harvard Women of the Moose. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include 4 children: Roberta (Randy) Davidson of Racine, WI, Becky (Bob) Bornhorst of Englewood, FL, Christopher (Lisa) Streit of Elkhorn, WI, and Angela DeVoy of Harvard, 10 grandchildren: Eric and Douglas Davidson, Matthew and Justin Schmarje, Kristin Gouthro, Jade, Amanda, and Brandon Streit, Joshua DeVoy, and Dylan Adams, a great grandchild: Savannah Grunke, a brother: Dennis (Teresa) Nelson of Manassas, VA, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, husband Robert, siblings: Carol Schickle, Ruby Jacobsen, Fern Garcia, and Gary Nelson, and a great grandson: Christian Hillary.
The visitation will be 11 AM - 1 PM Tues., Jan. 14 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033. The funeral will follow at 1 PM Tues., Jan. 14 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Harvard. The Rev. Steven Clarke will officiate.
