Fayette County - WILMA FRANCES PARKS CARRELL, 83, resident of Somerville and wife of Everett E. Carrell, well known County Agent for Fayette County before his death in 1976, died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Somerville First United Methodist Church. Interment, with a graveside service, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason, TN. A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Peebles Main Chapel in Somerville and at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Carrell served as a Depot Agent for the L&N Railroad in Somerville in earlier years and was an active member of the community before her recent illness. She was a devoted member of the Somerville First United Methodist Church, a member of the Chancel Choir, the Christian Activity Center committee, the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class, the Senior NTO Club and the United Methodist Women. She was a world traveler and an avid bridge player who enjoyed sewing and participation in the local Homemaker's Club Garden and Arts Club and Fayette County Historical Society. She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews and their children. The family request that memorials be directed to the Wilma Carrell Memorial Fund at the Somerville First United Methodist Church.
