NEW BOSTON - Mrs. Bernice Crapnell Noble, 74, of Eliza Township, Ill., was found dead at her home south of Eliza Monday. Death was apparently due to a heart attack. She had been ill for several years.

Born Sept. 5, 1892 in New Boston Township, she was the daughter of Charles and Carrie Longshore Crapnell. She was educated in Joy and New Boston and was a 1912 graduate of Aledo High.

She married Victor Noble Oct. 17, 1917 at her home in Joy. A member of the Eliza Community church, Mrs. Noble was also a member of the Ladies Aid and the XYZ club of Phoenix, Ariz.

She is survived by a son, Eugene, Phoenix, Ariz.; and a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Schrock, Eliza Township. There are seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. from the Eliza Community church with Rev. James Hancock, pastor of the Joy, New Boston and Eliza Methodist churches officiating. Burial will be at the Eliza Creek cemetery.

Friends may call at the Olin chapel at New Boston after 7 this evening.

Funeral services were held this afternoon (Wednesday) in the Eliza Community Church for Mrs. Bernice Crapnell Noble, 74, of Eliza Township, who died in her home Monday of an apparent heart attack.

Born Bernice Crapnell Sept. 5, 1892 in New Boston, she was the daughter of Charles and Carrie Longshore Crapnell. She was educated in Joy and New Boston, and was graduated from Aledo High School in 1912.

She was married Oct. 17, 1917 to Victor Noble in Joy. They lived most of their married life in Eliza Township.

She was a member of the Eliza Community Church, the Ladies Aid and the XYZ Club of Phoenix, Ariz.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Schrock of Eliza Township; a son, Eugene of Phoenix; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Her parents, husband and two sisters died before her.

Services were conducted by the Rev. James Hancock, pastor of the Eliza, New Boston and Joy Methodist Churches. Burial was in Eliza Creek Cemetery.
