Kenneth “Ken” A. Brull passed away at LindenGrove in New Berlin on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the age of 87.

Ken was born on September 28, 1931, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, son of the late Adolph and Sarah (Bashaw) Brull. He attended St. Luke’s Catholic grade school and graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School class of 1949. On July 2, 1955 Ken married Lois Copeskey at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Two Rivers.

Ken was a proud Air Force veteran and a member of the Alaskan Singing Sergeants of Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. Over the years, some of the Singing Sergeants continued to sing together at reunion gatherings while visiting each other around the country. One reunion included a visit to Milwaukee where they sang at Holy Apostles Catholic Church.

After the Air Force Ken trained as a Barber and enjoyed cutting hair for many of his friends even after he started working at, and retiring from, the United Postal Service. He enjoyed golf, bowling, running, playing cards with friends, working in the yard, and tanning on his patio. In his retirement Ken delivered Meals on Wheels and continued to make beautiful paintings and woodworking creations.

Ken truly enjoyed entertaining his friends and family with parties on their patio or at their basement bar. At any given gathering you’d find people playing cards, shut-box, cribbage, bumper pool and occasionally betting on the horse races played on their record player. Ken thought of many of his nieces and nephews as his “children” and especially enjoyed taking on the role of Grandpa to his great-niece, Jana.

Ken will be remembered for his wonderful smile, good natured kidding and his sense of humor.

Ken is survived by Lois (Copeskey) his loving wife of 64 years; brother Jim (Sue) Brull; sisters Janet LeClair and Betty Strathmann and sister-in-law Suzanne Brull. He is further survived by in-laws Bob and Maureen Copeskey, Catherine Dawson, Patricia Laurin, and many loved nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Wallace and Florence Copeskey; brother Robert Brull; brothers-in-law Victor LeClair, Sr., John Strathmann, William Copskey, John Copeskey, Joseph Dawson, Sr. and Donald Laurin; and sisters-in-law Rosemary, Esther and Irmgard Copskey, Beverly Copeskey and Kathy Copeskey.

Special thanks to nieces Cathryn Hubbard and Lori Walsh, who have assisted Ken and Lois with their care for many years, and to the caregivers at LindenGrove in New Berlin, who have watched over Ken for the last year and a half.

A graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Park on Friday, October 11th at 3:15pm. Committal Services by Fr. Don Thimm of Holy Apostles Catholic will be followed by Military Honors. Please meet at the main entrance for procession to the grave. Highland Memorial Park,14875 W Greenfield Avenue, New Berlin, WI 53151. The family will greet family and friends after the service.
