Rebecca Ann Merton, 66, of Mansfield, NJ passed away on Saturday November 4, 2017 at her home. Rebecca was born on May 24, 1951 in Newark, NJ and lived in Colonia, NJ and Byram, NJ before moving to Mansfield 10 years ago. She worked as a Nurse as Hagedorn Psychiatric Hospital in Glen Gardner, NJ for many years and later retired from Greystone Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains, NJ. She was a member of the library and loved reading. Her passion in life was her faith, love for God, and helping others in need.

Rebecca is survived by her two devoted sons, Newman Alton Merton and wife Anita, and Geoffrey Andrew Merton; two cherished grandchildren; her sister, Joan Walker; her mother, Enid Petit; and by many other loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her father Joseph DeMatteo; and her grandparents Alfred and Maude Petitt.

Rebecca's Life Celebration will include visitation on Friday November 10, 2017 from 9:00am to 11:00am at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00am following the visitation. Interment will be held at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ.
