Robert was a World War II veteran. He was a Technician 5. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in the Air Force. He was an employee of the U.S. Government for at least 32 years. His grandfather's sister was the founder of what became Foss Maritime, and was portrayed by the actress Marie Dressler in the 1933 movie about her life called "Tugboat Annie". Later on a sequel movie was made co-starring actor President Ronald Reagan. That movie was called "Tugboat Annie Sails Away". Robert died at the Heartland Health Care Center of Hyattsville. Burial was on October 14, 1998.
