A United States Army veteran, he served in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Anthonys Church in West Warwick, where he served on the parish council. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Society. He was a former member of Macs Friday Night Bowling league and had been a coach for Arctic Little League. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
