Milton Baumann, 91, of Ashley, ND died Monday, November 18, 2019 at Ashley Nursing Home. Funeral services for will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Salem Reformed Church in Ashley. The Rev. David Irwin will officiate. Burial will be in Ashley City Cemetery.
Milton Clifford Baumann, son of Rudolph and Christina (Dockter) Baumann was born northwest of Ashley, February 27, 1928. He attended country school through eighth grade and was the middle child of three children.
Milton was united in marriage to soulmate, Darlene Kautz daughter of Henry and Helen (Diede) Kautz on June 9, 1946. They made their home on the family farm northwest of Ashley, parenting three children; Allen, Charlotte and Debra. They raised cattle; stock and milk cows, chickens and had a huge garden. Milton enjoyed farming and was meticulous of keeping all his tractors and equipment in the best of shape. Milton was a very caring dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. In 1979 they moved to Ashley but continued farming until 1998 when they had a farm auction. Milton and Darlene worked as custodians at McIntosh County Bank.
Milton belonged to the Lions Club and was a member of Salem Reformed Church. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, casino trips and visiting with friends and family. Milton and Darlene celebrated 71 ½ years of a loving marriage.
Milton will be deeply missed by his son, Allen (Deb Jenner) Baumann of Ashley, ND; daughters, Charlotte (Jerry) Swenson of Minot, ND and Debra (Emile) Paradis of Marietta, GA; nine grandchildren; Tina (Trent) Nasers of Fargo, ND, Todd (Anne) Baumann of Lismore, MN, Janet (Eric) Leonardson of Lisbon, WI, Joleen (Matt) Halstrom of Rushmore, MN, Erick (Michelle) Swenson of San Ramon, CA, Elizabeth (Steve) Holen of Watford City, ND, John (Nikki) Hoffman of Bismarck, ND, Jessica (Chad) Hager of Minneapolis, MN and Melissa (Garett) McCabe of Bismarck, ND, 28 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, sister, Mabel Boschee of Wishek, sister-in-law Mavis Erlenbusch of Ashley, several nieces, nephews and friends.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Darlene (12-7-2017), brothers, Lavorn and Wilbert, daughter-in-law, Alice, brothers-in-law, Leon Boschee, Lloyd Erlenbusch and Ervin Marzolf, sisters-in-law, Florence Baumann and Florence Marzolf and niece, Marsha Erlenbusch.
