Obituary for Boyd Benton Gamblin Jr.
Boyd Benton Gamblin, Jr. of Vancleave, MS. On September 28, 2019 the Lord called him home. Benton was born March 10, 1932 in Kemper County, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Boyd Benton and Lou Don Gamblin and his eldest sister, Nelda Irby.
He leaves behind his younger siblings; Frances Allen, Glen Gamblin, and Judy Inabinette.
Benton moved to Vancleave, MS in 1942 along with his family. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. Upon returning home from Korea, he married his wife, Mae Gamblin. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary August of this year.
Benton and Mae had three beautiful children; Boyd Benton "Chip" (Molly) Gamblin, Ramona Gamblin (1959-2006), and Regina Gamblin. Together, they ran a successful business in Vancleave from 1970 to 2017.
Benton's life was enriched by his grandchildren; Nichole (Eric) Mckerchie and Wesley Turner; and his great-grandchildren; Gavin Mckerchie, Payton Mckerchie, Jayden Turner, and Maci Turner.
The visitation for Benton will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Vancleave. The funeral service will follow at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, in Escatawpa/Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements.
