Jackie Morgan
August 26, 1928 – September 30, 2019
Jack Morgan was born August 26, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to Lee Roy and Beatrice (Hightower) Morgan. His family had moved back to Hazard, Kentucky before 1935 and he grew up as a boy there with his 5 other siblings. In 1945, when he was 17 years old Jack joined the Merchant Marine, he served in the Air Force for 3 years in Japan and also in the Army in Korean. He enjoyed his military service and also enjoyed seeing the world.
He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and The Cincinnati Bengals. Jack loved sports. He also loved to travel and work crossword puzzles. He was on a bowling league in Ohio and in The Villages. He was a member of the American Legion both in Cincinnati and in The Villages (Post 347). Jack worked his adult life in factories in the Cincinnati area.
Jack was a wonderful caring brother to Ray and Joe Morgan, Betty Spraul, Mary Ann Tygrett and Charlene Harper. His 13 nieces and nephews have fond memories of their Uncle Jack. He loved his family and they loved him. Jack never married but he was always involved in the lives of his extended family. After retiring he moved to Florida to be close to his brothers. Jack spent 21 years of his 91 years living in The Villages and most of those years he would drive into Leesburg Monday thru Fridays to have lunch with family.
He died at the age of 91 years with lots of life, love and happiness.
