Duane C. Ainley of St. Louis, Mo passed away in his home surrounded by his wife, daughters and caregivers at the age of 85 years on Sept 27, 2019. Duane was born December 7, 1933, the first son of Russell and Christeen Ainley in Supply, Arkansas. Duane became a Christian at the age of 12 and served faithfully the rest of his life. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, from 1956 to 1958. He served in the Army reserves until 1964. He and Norma Ruth King met through Duane's sister and married May 23, 1959 at Jewel Baptist Church. Duane was known and respected in the community as a hardworking, generous man. Many counted him as friend and neighbor. He loved family, life, people and God. Duane's vocation was factory worker for Pennzoil Co. when he retired in 1999. Duane performed many service acts over the years. Some of them were visitation, prison ministry, mission building trips and making tic-tac-toe boards for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Any check donations that you would like to send to Operation Christmas Child may be made out to Samaritan's Purse with "OCC" written on the memo line. Duane was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Lola Ainley Clements. He is survived by two sisters, Fern Hawthorne and Sharon Miller and one brother, Jim Ainley. He is also survived by 2 daughters: Deborah and Denise; 2 sons-in-law Jeff and James; 2 granddaughters: Hannah and Sarah and 2 grandsons: Josiah and Ezra. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and other family members, who will miss him greatly. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation and thanks for all who helped Duane and Norma with dedication and commitment.

Visitation will be on October 6, 2019 from 3-7 pm at Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, Creve Coeur, Mo and Oct 7, 2019 from 10-11 am at Parkway Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at Parkway Baptist Church in Creve Coeur, Mo. at 11 am with Dr. Dwight Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis. Arrangements were made by Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home in Creve Coeur. Mo.
