Mrs. Avery Fertig Dies at Her Home Near Los Angeles

Mrs. Avery Fertig, 61, died at her home in Roscoe, a suburb of Los Angeles, at 4 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Fertig suffered a stroke Monday and did not regain consciousness. She had suffered a heart ailment for several years. A long distance telephone call to her sister, Mrs. Doyle Peery, said the services would be Saturday.
Allyne Knight was born Jan. 25, 1887, in Winnsboro, Texas, and came with her parents to Carnegie in 1907. She was assistant to C.W. Young in the postoffice here for a number of years. She married Avery Fertig of Fort Cobb. They lived here and in Lawton before moving to California in 1932.
Survivors are the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Morris Burdett, Los Angeles; four sisters, Mrs. Peery and Mrs. Chas. Redding of this place; Mrs. A.M. Ebling of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Eugene Cheek, Monterey Park, Calif. and two brothers, George and Dexter Knight of Mountain View.
Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Knight and George left Wednesday for L.A. to attend the services.
