Bethann Trouten was born on November 16, 1954 in Monroe, Michigan. She was born from the union of William Trouten and the late Rose (Douglas) Maynard.

For many years, Bethann worked in housekeeping for Mercy Memorial Hospital, and somehow also found time to be self-employed as the owner of a local car wash. Not one to let the grass grow under her feet, she was a wealth of information; proud to be in the know before everyone else. Bethann married Leroy Leach and together they raised their blended family. She loved them all dearly and cherished the time she shared.

Bethann was a social butterfly with a very outgoing personality and easily made many friends. Among her favorite things to do were fishing, taking trips to the casino, and playing Bingo.

Bethann, age 64 of Toledo, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital surrounded by her family. In addition to her mother, her passing was preceded by her step-father Bud Maynard her beloved husband: Leroy; a daughter: Victoria Currington; a daughter Stacy Leach her brother: Jeff Trouten; her step-mother: Beulah Trouten; her maternal grandparents: Clarence and Nannie Douglas; her paternal grandparents: William and Ruth Trouten; and many aunts and uncles.

To cherish her memory, Bethann leaves one daughter: Buffy ; her father: William Trouten; two step-children: Brenda Johnson and Lee (Jenny) Leach; her siblings: William (Sally) Trouten, Rick (Bobbi) Trouten, Donald Trouten, Brenda Maynard, Lynette (Bryan) Maurice, Gail Maynard Casto, and Joy Maynard; her step-siblings: Thelma Maynard, Kim Friar, Cheryl (Stan) Kolebick, Gayla (John) Badger, Kathy (Greg) Wolff and Kris Everett; ten grandchildren: Baylee, Dustin, Jerzy, Chandler, Autumn, Brandon, Jordan, Jared, Justin, and Jaylee; ten great grandchildren: Brendan, Brandon, Gabriel, Hunter, Hudson, Lily, Areabella, Jace, Braxton, and Abel; Paula Campbell, who was like a daughter to her; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Friends may gather on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 3:00pm-8:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe, 14567 South Dixie Highway (734)241-7070. A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 11:00am, also at Merkle’s with Pastor BJ McDaniel officiating. Procession will follow to LaSalle Township Cemetery for burial.
