MAURICE J. ABRAMS
(1869-1954)

Maurice J. Abrams, 85, of 1149 Ninth St., died Saturday at 6:45 p.m. at his home. He had been ill since June of this year.

Mr. Abrams was formerly a manager of the St. Claire Hotel at 10th and Waller Sts. and later of the Turner Hotel on Third St. For the last 24 years, he and his wife, Anna Mae, had rented out rooms at their residence.

He was born Aug. 19, 1869, in Greenup Co., Ky., a son of Thomas and Missouri Bradshaw Abrams.

Surviving are his wife; a step-daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Haupt of Massilon; a brother, Clarence of Akron; a sister, Mrs. O.W. McCullough of Canton; a step-sister, Flora Cropper of Third St.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, two sisters, and four brothers.

Mr. Abrams was a member of the First Christian Church.

Funeral services are to be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Brock Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert Goetz in charge. Burial is to be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
