Frank Smith, 80, of Newton died at 2:52 a.m. at St. Anthony Hospital, Effingham, IL. He was born in Jasper Co., the son of Otto and Clara (Nix) Smith. He married Evelyn Gorrell in 1942, she died in 1975. Survivors include sons, Mike (wife Drucilla) of Wheeler, Brad (wife Jeannie) of Titusville, FL, daughters Judy (husband Don) Burnell of Wheeler, and Jeanne (husband Bob) Wagner of Newton, 12 grandchildren and a brother John of Newton. Preceded in death by brother Kenneth and sister Anna Otto of Newton. He was a retired farmer, member of Latona Church of Christ and American Legion Post 20, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
