Evelyn Smith was born in Smallwood Township, Jasper Co. to Ralph and Augusta Brewer Gorrell. She married Frank B. Smith, April 11, 1942. Surviors include her husband, daughters Judy (husband Don) Burnell of Wheeler, Jeanne (husband Bob) Wagner of Newton, sons Mike (wife Drucilla) of Wheeler and Brad (wife Lisa) of Newton. Grandchildren, Sherri and Clinton Burnell, Aaron Smith of Newton, Brandon and Melissa Smith of Wheeler.
Also surviving is her mother Augusta and two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Jean) Nix of Newton and Mrs. Robert (Doris) Gumfory of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Gorrell, a sister and grandson. She was a homemaker and worked in the bakery at Hartrich's Grocery.
