David B. Maslen, 81, husband of Sandra Jo Bidwell Maslen, entered into rest on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport.
Born on March 24, 1956 in Niagara Falls, NY, Dave was the son of the late Walter and late Laone Hillman Maslen.
He served in the United States Navy Reserves and on August 30, 1974, he married Sandra Jo Bidwell. Dave was a salesman and general manager for various General Motors dealerships and also owned and operated Maslen Building Systems for 10 years.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston and was known as the "voice of the Peach Festival." In 1969 he was one of the founders and a coach of the Lewiston-Porter Youth Football. Dave was also a part of the "Apple Dumpling Gang" where he enjoyed watching football on Sundays at Apple Granny's. He was also a member of the Niagara Frontier Country Club and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 584, and also enjoyed bowling but football was his passion.
David is survived by his wife, Sandra Jo; his children, Sherry Ann Castagner, Gerry Pardee, Patricia Robins, Deanna (Michael) Barone. Also surviving is his brother, Richard "Dick" (Kathy) Maslen; a nephew, Rich (Janice) Maslen; his grandchildren, Vince, Joey, Nicole, Kenny, Monica, Jocelyn, Zoe and 11 great-grandchildren. Dave was predeceased by his sons, Ricky and Michael Maslen, and Kenneth Mort.
NO PRIOR VISITATION. A Mass of Remembrance will be held on SUNDAY, September 22, 2019, at 10:00 AM, at Stella Niagara, 4421 Lower River Road, Stella Niagara, NY 14144 (Town of Lewiston). PLEASE USE THE REAR ENTRANCE.
