Warren Gene Barnett, 72, of Shawnee, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in Shawnee
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with Rev. Mike Craig officiating . Their will be a family gathering following the service at the the Shawnee VFW.
Warren was born May 13, 1947 in Shawnee to Warren Gene and Ethel (Shatterdield) Neal. He graduated from the class of 1965 of Shawnee High School. He so proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968, during the Vietnam War proudly earning himself 2 purple hearts and a soldiers medal. After returning from the war, he married the greatest love of his life, Linda Roberts. They were married on November 21, 1969 and have been happily blessed in marriage the last 49 years. Warren worked as an aircraft mechanic at Tinker Airforce Base until his retirement in 2005.
Warren was an active member of the VFW Post 1317, the VFW Riders Group, and the Disabled Veterans of America. Warren waa a very proud Veteran, doting husband, loved his precious kids, cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Him and Linda enjoyed traveling and riding his harleys with her, fishing and playing pool.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren Gene and Ethel Neal. He is survived by his wife Linda of the home. Sons: Frosty (Tami) Barnett, Daryl (Tressa) Barnett, and daughter Regina Barnett Melton. He was survived by 8 grandsons: Alex (lisa), Matthew (Jenna), Garrett (Cindy), Johnathan, Conor, Aaron, Corbin, Jasper, Eli, and Max Barnett. He also left 4 granddaughters behind to cherish his memories, Keylie and Harlow Barnett, Michelle Bradford and Amber Jones. He also left behind 4 sisters: Carol (Leon) Fuller, Dorothy (Don) Bright, Karen Bethchan and Jeann Votaw, as well as a number of nieces, great nieces, nephews and and great nephews who all live and miss his presence very much.
